About us
The first season runs on a working estate in Tuscany, Italy, among vines and olives on the slopes of Monte Amiata, with outside farms joining in. From there, Premonto will go wherever small farms most need an early warning, including the UK, Italy and Romania.

Who is behind it
Otis Springer is the Founder & CEO of Premonto. He grew up at Castello Di Potentino, an estate with vines, olives, fruit & nut trees and a vegetable garden on Monte Amiata in Tuscany. He continues to work alongside the team that farms it. In the last few years, he has watched the harvest move weeks earlier and the seasons grow harder to read.
His studies in International Politics gave him the wider view. The same pressures are reaching small farms across Europe, and they carry the most risk with the least support.
Premonto is his answer. It warns farmers before frost, heat or drought arrives and stays with them through the whole year, building a record of what happens on their own land. Over time that record becomes the case for mixed planting, made with evidence gathered on farms like theirs, season by season.
What we believe
The farmer at the centre
Every farm has its own history of land, weather and harvests. We start from there.
Useful to every grower
Our warnings are neutral and practical. They help any farm, whatever it grows and however it is run.
Advocate, never impose
We believe that growing crops together makes farms more resilient and we say so openly. We bring the evidence. The choice is always yours.
Proof before promises
We test on working land first, block by block, and we rely only on peer-reviewed or official sources.
Through people you trust
Warnings arrive by WhatsApp, a phone call or a text message, and through the advisors and cooperatives you already work with.
For our partners
We are looking for partners who already work with small farms: CAP advisory services, cooperatives, crop insurers and agricultural universities in the UK, Italy and Romania. If you want your growers to have greater access to information on their farms, followed by a platform that stands by them throughout, we would like to talk.
Want to take part in the first season, or work with us? Write to contact@premonto.com and tell us what you grow and where. We always reply.
